Dorothy Jean Johnson Smith
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee for Dorothy Jean Johnson Smith, 81, of Mount Olive who passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her residence. Brother Jimmy Arender will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive. Music will be provided by Brandy Rushing and Mary Wilson. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Ainsworth, Cole Ainsworth, Justin Smith, David Rushing, Robert Johnson, and Richard Johnson.
Mrs. Smith, a Covington County native, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Mount Olive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Johnson and Willie Lee Cole Johnson; one daughter, Patsy Ann Smith; one sister, Sally Bounds; and four brothers, R.D. Johnson, James Johnson, Cecil Johnson, and Harold Johnson.
Survivors include her husband of sixty three years, K.E. Brother Smith of Mount Olive; one daughter, Donna Smith Ainsworth of Collins; one son, Kenny Smith and his wife, Sally of Mount Olive; four grandchildren, Brandy Smith Rushing, Justin Smith, Daniel Ainsworth, and Cole Ainsworth; three great-grandchildren, Austin Smith, Elizabeth Rushing, and Bella Ainsworth; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.colonialchapelmageemendenhall.com
