Doris Jean (Bowen) Whittinghill passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her residence. She was born to Albert Henry Bowen and Carol Ann (Sellers) Bowen on June 6, 1963.
Doris’ favorite color was purple. She loved yellow flowers, especially yellow roses. Doris was sick most of her life, but she never gave up and always made sure everyone around her was taken care of. She was a jokester and very opinionated. If you asked her to tell you the truth, she’d tell it and had no filter. She loved her family very much and was extremely loyal. She loved everyone she met and was fun to be around.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Whittinghill; sons, Michael Whittinghill (April), Scott Whittinghill (Meagan); brother, Jason Bowen (Kim); sisters, Lorine Bowen Ainsworth, Melissa Bowen Starita (Kenny); grandchildren, Mazie Keene and Gage Whittinghill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Carol Ann Bowen.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS. The service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at Tutor Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Merchant Cemetery with Bro. Ken Irby officiating.
Pallbearers are Cody Blair, David Starita, Jacob Starita, Austin Tanner, Gage Whittinghill, Michael Whittinghill. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Bentlei Blair, Ian Bowen, Jordyn Blair, Lane Kemp and Fisher Kemp.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
