Doris Evelyn Prince Martin, 92 of Florence, Mississippi went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born August 26, 1931 in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Magee City Cemetery. Bro. Paul Barnard will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Doris Martin was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person who loved her God, her church, and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and had the hands of a servant always doing good for others… what we call in the South… a Godly woman… a beautiful Christ-like example. There’s nobody in the world quite like you Mom. Gone from earth, yet will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Ulysses Martin; daughter, Willie Catherine Martin Underwood; father, Nathaniel Augustus Prince; mother, Willie Mae Wade Prince; brother, Lavelle Prince; sister-cousins, Lucy Butler and Linda Parish; brother-cousins, Thomas Prince and Ed Prince; step-mother, Nena Prince; step-brothers, Bobby Hall and Ray Hall; and step-sister, Mary Coward.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Martin Graham (Bobby); grandchildren, Ranee Underwood Weaver (James), Chris Graham (Sara), Amy Jones (Michael), Jerry Graham (Rachelle), Brenda Taylor, and Linda Huffman; sisters, June Prince Thames (Roger), Frances McNair, Mae Buckley, Patsy McDaniel (Scott), Doris Shaw (Lou) and Judy Hammond; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.
Pallbearers will be Chris Graham, Michael Jones, James Weaver, Jerry Graham, Zach Jones, Thomas Graham, Will Jones, and Timothy Graham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin Nutt, Jager Graham, and Jared Graham.
Special music will be performed by Tracey Cross.
