Donald Lee Layton, 74 of Morton, MS passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home in Morton, MS. He was born Monday, September 25, 1950 in Simpson County, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 5:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In his 74 years of life, he never met a stranger. He worked as a truck driver for BC Rogers for and was also a volunteer firefighter. He loved to joke around and playfully tease those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, AJ and Willie Layton; brother, Ronald Layton.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Layton of Morton, MS; son, Kenneth (Kenny) Layton of Morton, MS; daughter, Amanda Layton (Rebecca) of Morton, MS; grandchild, Emily (Gracie) Layton of Morton; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews and extended family.
