By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in Joshua 1:8: “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written it. Then, you will be prosperous and successful. Although the prophet of old was referring to the Scripture available to the Jews at the time and before the advent of Jesus and the writers of the New Testament, the message is still clear to us today: the inspired Word of God is vital for the Christian. It is our guidebook, our go-to source for daily living. We’re admonish to commit it to memory, and many of us have memorized various portions throughout our lives to give us comfort and hope when we do not have our BIBLES on hand. Who among us remembers Kitty Wells’ famous gospel song “Dust on the BIBLE”? It was very popular during the 1950s.
Happy Wednesday!
