On the date of Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at approximately 0530 hours and unidentified white male drove a 2002 gold Nissan Maxima through the front plate glass doors of the D’Lo Truck Stop. The truck stop was open at the time.
The driver then exited the vehicle and brandished a small black hand gun and demanded money or he stated he would kill the clerk. The clerk compiled and provided the cash drawer with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then attempted to leave the store by backing the car out of the glass door. The vehicle became hung on a post and the driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
The Simpson County Sheriff Department blood house, Montana, was called to the scene and tracked the suspect through a wooded area west of the truck stop. The dog was able to locate several items of evidence used in the robbery. The dog lost the trailer around Pine Street where the subject is believed to have gotten into a beehive and given a ride from scene.
As the investigation continued to suspect was later identified as 23 year of age W/M Elwood Bryce Leggett of Mendenhall. The suspect was arrested approximately 1415 hours January 3, 2018 by officers of the Pearl Police Department, after information was obtained during the investigation of his identity and location. Leggett will have his initial appearance before Simpson Count Justice Court Ted Blakeney January 4, 2018 in Simpson County. This case is an ongoing investigation and more arrest are expected…
