Obituary for Darvin Lynn Sibley Sr.
He graduated from Doyle High School and attended Louisiana State University (LSU). Throughout his life, Darvin was known for his dedication to family, friends, and various professional and personal interests.
Darvin is survived by his sons, Darvin Jr. (Carol) of Sumrall, MS, and Jeremy Sibley of Meridian, MS; his daughters, Sunnie (Carl) Dixon of Magee, MS, and Saralyn (Chris) Hamilton of Marshfield, MO. He was a proud grandfather to his cherished grandchildren: Chasity Dixon, Caroline Sibley, Maeleigh Dixon, Kathryn Sibley, Maddie Dixon, Brooklyn Hamilton, and Brynlee Hamilton.
He is also survived by his brothers, Marvin (Connie) Sibley of Walker, LA, and Levy (Sandy) Sibley of Walker, LA; and his sisters-in-law, Shellene Sibley of Walker, LA, and Kay Sibley of Walker, LA. Darvin’s extended family includes many beloved nieces and nephews.
Darvin was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Carrie Mae Sibley of Livingston, and his brothers, William Lloyd Sibley and Charles Boyd Sibley, both of Walker, LA.
Darvin’s main profession was being a licensed general contractor in both Louisiana and Mississippi. He was also an active and respected member of various organizations. He was a Louisiana Carpenters Local and the Mississippi Cattleman’s Association member. Additionally, he was a former member of the Tri-State Rodeo Association, where he served as vice president.
Darvin’s life was filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those around him. His legacy will continue through his family and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
Please join the family in celebrating this extraordinary life on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 from 10:00 am at the Mangum Chapel Methodist Church, 31366 Cane Market Rd, Walker, LA 70785 until the funeral starts are 11:00 am. A burial will follow at Sibley Cemetery located at 16625 LA 1024 Walker, LA 70785.
