I am Darrell Walker, a democratic candidate running for sheriff of Simpson County in the 2019 election. I am 49 years old and life long resident of Simpson County. I have been married to my wife Shawna Walker for 30 years. We have three children, Durell ( 29), Emmanuel (27), and India (25). We also have a god-son Kentrell Craft (8) and two grandsons Dominic (2) and D’kai (1). I graduated from Mendenhall High School  in 1988. I served in the military for eight years and I am a Gulf War Veteran and third degree Mason.   After 25 years as a State Trooper with the Mississippi Highway Patrol I retired last year with the rank of Lieutenant. During my career I obtained a multitude of certifications and experience in the following:

• National Response Plan with FEMA

• Investigative Report Writing with Gulf Coast HIDTA

It would be an honor to continue serving the public as your next Sheriff of Simpson County.  I  am looking forward to meeting with more residents in the following months.  If you are ready to move our county forward, please vote for me on Aug 6th primary election. Leadership Matters…. Vote for Change!!!!
