Darla Mae Owen, age 57, passed away far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories. Though her time with us was cut short, the impact she made on the lives of those who knew and loved her will last forever.

Darla was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Roberta, and her father, Rayford . We take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with them once again.

She was the proud mother of seven children; Terry Rayford Blair; Trindie Alexandria Newton (Robby); Cody Blair (Christie); Matthew Phillips (Destiny); Elizabeth Phillips, Zackery Phillips (Graceland), and Tommy Phillips. Being a mother was one of Darla’s greatest joys in life. She loved her children fiercely and spent her life teaching them invaluable lessons about strength, resilience, and unconditional love.

Darla was also the cherished grandmother of twelve grandchildren; Johnathan Blair, Mason Blair, Clayten Newton, Bentlei Blair, Braxlei-Jo Blair, Baylei Blair, Brecken Blair, Bellamy Blair, Berklei Blair, Jasper Phillips, Saylor Maelynn Marie Phillips, and Kaydence Phillips. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to spoil them rotten. Each of them carries a piece of her heart, and her beautiful spirit will continue to shine brightly through their lives.

Darla was full of life and boldly herself. She had a style all her own and never apologized for being exactly who she was. Independent and strong-willed, there was little she couldn’t do. Whether she was working on a vehicle, crocheting something special, drawing, or sharing wisdom with her children and grandchildren, Darla poured her heart into everything she did.

She had a special love for animals, especially cats, and found joy in caring for them. More than anything, she wanted to be a great mom and one day make it to Heaven—a simple but profound desire that reflected the goodness of her heart.

Darla leaves behind the love of her life and soulmate, Terry Blair, whom she loved deeply. Their bond was one built on love, companionship, and countless memories that will forever be treasured.

Those who knew Darla knew her as a woman who was fearless, compassionate, and fiercely devoted to her family. Her loss leaves an emptiness that words cannot adequately express. She was taken from us much too soon and at such a young age, but the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Though we grieve her absence, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Her laughter, her lessons, her strength, and her light will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family, and all whose lives she touched.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard.”
