Dan Tullos of Magee passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson with his daughters by his side.

Walter Daniel Tullos was born April 9th, 1937, in Magee, Mississippi. He attended and graduated from Magee High School in 1957 where he was an outstanding football player and selected Most Handsome. Raised on the family farm, he enjoyed showing livestock and being outdoors hunting and fishing which led him to a career in wildlife management. He served as an officer and later as Chief of Law Enforcement for the Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks until his retirement in 1993. Prior to his employment with the agency, he also worked for the Mississippi State Sanatorium. He considered his most important job to be a Papaw. He loved and adored his grandchildren more than anything in the world. Mr. Tullos was a lifelong member of Rials Creek United Methodist Church in Mendenhall, where he also served as a Sunday School teacher.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Walter Glenn Tullos, and his mother, Edwina Dampeer Tullos, his sister, Ancie Lou Herrington, and his brother, Claude Tullos.
