extending from near Crystal Springs to near Rockport to near
Jayess, moving east at 45 mph.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near…
Robinwood around 915 AM CST.
Silver Creek, Arm, Harrisville, and Union around 920 AM CST.
New Hebron, Pinola, Shivers, Tilton, and Oak Vale around 925 AM
CST.
Braxton and Progress around 930 AM CST.
Mendenhall, Prentiss, D’Lo, and Society Hill around 935 AM CST.
Sanatorium, Clem, and Carson around 940 AM CST.
Magee, Bassfield, Lone Star, and Martinville around 945 AM CST.
Mount Olive and Melba around 950 AM CST.

WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. *

WHERE…Portions of central, east central, north central, northeast, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Mississippi, including the following areas, in central Mississippi, Attala, Choctaw, Copiah, Hinds, Holmes, Leake, Madison MS, Rankin, Scott, Simpson, Smith and Yazoo. In east central Mississippi, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee and Winston. In north central Mississippi, Carroll, Grenada, Montgomery and Webster. In northeast Mississippi, Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha. In south central Mississippi, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence and Lincoln. In southeast Mississippi, Covington. In southwest Mississippi, Adams, Claiborne, Franklin MS and Jefferson. In west central Mississippi, Warren.

* WHEN…Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS…Flash flooding will likely occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Localized more impactful flooding could occur where the heaviest rain falls, including the potential for road closures. *

ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain will continue to move across the area through the morning and into the afternoon.

The ground is soaked from recent heavy rainfall, and this additional heavy rain will run off quickly and potentially result in flash flooding.
