Crying babies were something I could hardly tolerate…when it was mine crying!  But today, during Sunday morning “big” Church at First Baptist Magee, the sound of crying babies was music to my ears!  I have finally reached the age where I realize crying babies in church means young families and young children in church!  We all know that our young people are our future, no matter how young.

So, to that mama and daddy whose baby was crying, you made me a happy soul.  Thank you for the effort you took to get your family to church.  Even tears are a reward. It expresses a shift in perspective—from seeing crying babies as a disruption to appreciating them as a sign of life, growth, and a vibrant future for the church community.

  • Gratitude: Toward the parents who made the effort to attend church with their children.
  • Encouragement: A gentle reminder that even when it feels hard, bringing children to church matters deeply.
