The Scriptural passage selected for today is taken from Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, oh, God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” This should be our prayer each morning as we open our eyes. We need a constant renewal of heart and spirit, and God is the source of that renewal. Just as we take care of our bodies by daily washing and bathing, so should we cleanse our hearts and spirits by starting our day afresh and new. Amen!
