Simpson Baseball Simpson played four games last week against Hartfield Academy and St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.

Hartfield Academy Game 1

Simpson 11 Hartfield 3-Getting hits for Simpson were Andrew Smith two doubles and a single, Noah Freeman two singles and 2 RBI’s, Caleb Garner two singles and 2 RBI’s, Noah Magee a double, a single, and 3 RBI’s, Brentley Berry a single, Bowen Kelly a single, Lawton Kennedy a single and a RBI, Mason Kennedy a single, and Hooks Harvey a RBI. Pitching for Simpson were Caleb Garner 5.1 innings with 4 strikeouts and Andrew Smith 1.2 innings with 4 strikeouts. The win improved Simpson’s record to 1-0 in district play and 11-2 on the season.

Academy Game 2

Hartfield 5 Simpson 1-Getting hits for Simpson were Noah Freeman a single, Caleb Garner a single, and Bowen Kelly a single. Pitching for Simpson was John Cole Giordano 6 innings with 6 strikeouts. The loss dropped Simpson’s record to 1-1 in district play and 11-3 on the season.

Hartfield Academy Game 3

Simpson 5 Hartfield 2-Getting hits for Simpson were Mason Kennedy two singles, Brentley Berry a single, Noah Freeman a single, Caleb Garner a single and a RBI, Hooks Harvey a single, Lawton Kennedy a single and 2 RBI’s, Noah Magee a single, and Andrew Smith a double and 2 RBI’s. Pitching for Simpson was Mason Kennedy 7 innings with 4 strikeouts. The win improved Simpson’s record to 2-1 in district play and 12-3 on the season.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School

St. Andrew’s 7 Simpson 6-Getting hits for Simpson were Caleb Garner a triple, a double, a single, and a RBI, Lawton Kennedy a triple, a double, and a single, Mason Kennedy a double, a single, and a RBI, Noah Freeman a single and a RBI, Bowen Kelly a single, and Andrew Smith a RBI. Pitching for Simpson were Warner Watkins 4 innings with 3 strikeouts, Lawton Kennedy 2.1 innings with 2 strikeouts, and Noah Magee 0.2 innings with a strikeout.

JV Games Simpson defeated Hartfield Academy 5-0 and lost to St. Andrew’s 5-1.

Simpson will host East Rankin Academy Thursday, April 4, in a varsity doubleheader starting at 4:00 p.m. The Cougars will travel to Lamar School in Meridian on Tuesday, April 9, with the JV starting at 4:00 p.m. followed by the varsity.
