Washington, D.C. – Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) joined other lawmakers in praising the signing of the Economic and Trade Agreement Between the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China, a long-awaited trade agreement that addresses China’s history of currency manipulation, intellectual property theft, and trade balance with the U.S.

“Wages are increasing, unemployment is shrinking, and overall faith in our economy is growing. The announcement of this trade deal comes at an opportune time when Americans are working. We can compete with any country in the world, and this deal opens up trade markets with China that will benefit Mississippi livestock, timber, poultry, and row crop industries. Furthermore, this agreement helps protect American intellectual property and financial services, conditions that will allow American businesses fairer access to one of the world’s largest economies. I’d like to commend President Trump and his administration for their continued efforts to grow our economy and put hard-working Americans above foreign interests.”
