The City of Magee Mayor and Board of Alderman passed a resolution memorializing Coach Jerry Sullivan Tuesday night, June 6, 2017.
Coach Sullivan, a pastor, teacher, coach, family man, and lover of Magee, made a difference in the lives of people and our city.
Mayor Jimmy Clyde said it best, “Jerry Sullivan made Magee a better place to live because of his love for others.”
What powerful words! Jerry Sullivan taught or coached many people in his years with the school systems. He was an honorable man. He loved his students…he loved his congregation…he loved his family. His faith and love for the Lord was unquestionable.
I am so glad Jerry Sullivan was apart of my life. I watched his faithfulness to my Uncle Tommy Everett in taking Tommy to MS State functions. Even in their later years, these two men continued to support the dawgs!
In 2013, The Magee Chamber of Commerce recognized Coach Sullivan as the Outstanding Citizen.
At one time, Jerry Sullivan was my pastor. He was always my friend. Jerry just made you feel loved! He never made you feel inadequate…he focused on the positive about your life.
Thank you to our Mayor and board for recognizing a great man.
