WESSON – Seventeen students recently completed Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Electrical Lineman School. The 16-week training program is offered by the college’s Workforce Education Division.

A certificate presentation was held at The Thames Center for family and friends. Immediately after, the graduates showed off one of their skills by climbing poles.

The Electrical Lineman Program is a non-credit workforce training program that, when completed, provides graduates with nine credentials: National Electric Codes, National Safety Electric Codes, Multi-Meter, OSHA-10, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, 40-hours climbing, Pole-Top Rescue, and CDL- Class A- License.

Graduates included John Barker of Monticello, Jermaine Black of Bogue Chitto, Dakota Brown of Pattison, Connor Case of Union Church, Christopher Hunt of Crystal Springs, Jordan Magee, Riley Welch, and Tyler Williamson, all of Magee; Colby McMillan of McCall Creek, Jalen Moore of Natchez, Denuntay Nelson of Brookhaven, Matthew Selman of Wesson, Sam Smith of Braxton, Eddie Spence of Jayess, Kyle Walker and Blaine Williamson, both of Mendenhall; and Charlie Zhang of Jackson.l
