Co-Lin Workforce Graduates Third Lineman Class

WESSON – Twenty-two students recently completed Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Electrical Lineman School. The 16-week training program is offered by the college’s Workforce Education Division. Workforce Center Director Luke Laird congratulated graduates in front of their family and friends at the recent recognition ceremony. Following graduation, students demonstrated their skills at a showcase held at the pole yard including attaching lines, climbing poles, and conducting a mock rescue.

            The Electrical Lineman Program is a non-credit workforce training program that, when completed, provides graduates with nine credentials: National Electric Codes, National Safety Electric Codes, Multi-Meter, OSHA-10, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, 40-hours climbing, Pole-Top Rescue, and CDL- Class A- License.

            Graduates Bo Allen of Lakeland, TN; Noah Allen and Matthew Malone of Wesson, MS; Parker Allen of Hazlehurst, MS; Jarmell Anderson of Fayette, MS; Troy Anderson of Jackson, MS; Wes Burns of Magnolia, MS; Clayton Bynum of Seminary, MS; Dylan Dean of Osyka, MS; Eli Easterling of Mize, MS; Jacob Edmonds of Summit, MS; Malachi Freeman of McComb, MS; Keshawn Herring, Tyler Leggett, Keyondray Powell, James Spear, and Jordan Stephens of Brookhaven, MS; Harris Hauenstein of Laurel, MS; Preston Hickman of Osyka, MS; Walt Lowe of Monticello, MS; James Martin of Roxie, MS; and Walker McGuffee of Brandon, MS.
