Co-Lin to hold cheerleader clinic/tryouts
WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College will hold cheerleader tryouts for the 2016-2017 school year on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1, beginning at 4 p.m. in Callender Hall on the college’s Wesson Campus. Application deadline is Monday, March 28. There is a $20 tryout fee and candidates must attend both sessions.
Female candidates must be prepared to perform a chant that you have prepared. You will be taught a cheer and part of a dance will be asked to perform basic partner stunts and required tumbling skills.
Male cheerleaders will be required to eight to 10 reps of military presses with at least 135 pounds, demonstrate simple arm motions, perform partner stunts, chair set, extension and lib.
Mascot candidates must be prepared to perform a routine you have prepared and will be interviewed.
