WESSON –  Copiah-Lincoln Community College recently ranked No. 1 in student success and adult education skills on the 2017 Report Card. Each year, all Mississippi community colleges must provide data to the Mississippi Community College Board to be compiled into a Report Card as required by the Mississippi Legislature. On the 2017 Report Card, Co-Lin had the highest percentage for student success of all 15 community colleges in the state, with a total student success rate of 69 percent, far exceeding the state average of 57.3 percent. Student success is captured as earned awards, transferred, or retained at institution at 150 percent of expected time to graduation. The college also ranked first in the adult education category, with adult education participants earning a measurable skill gain of 58.1 percent.

“We are thrilled to see Co-Lin in such high ranks on the Report Card,” said Director of Institutional Effectiveness Tiffany Perryman. “This reflects the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students.”

Other findings of the Report Card included Co-Lin’s retention rate of 63.9 percent exceeding both the state’s retention rate of 59.4 percent and the national retention rate of 62 percent for two-year public institutions. Co-Lin’s rate for student placement for career and technical graduates and associate degree nursing graduates was 91.4 percent with the state’s average at 88.2 percent.
