Co-Lin President Dr. Ronnie Nettles selected as President of SACAD
WESSON- Copiah-Lincoln Community College President Dr. Ronnie Nettles was recently nominated and selected to serve as President of the Southern Association of Colleges with Associate Degrees (SACAD) at their annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Nettles previously served as chair of the audit committee and publication committee and was first appointed to the SACAD Board as Mississippi’s Representative in 2014. Outgoing President, Dr. Ed Meadows, is President of Pensacola State College in Florida but previously served as the Dean of Co-Lin’s Natchez campus in the 1980’s.
“I am very honored to be representing Co-Lin and our state as President of SACAD for the upcoming year,” said Nettles. “My goals for the organization will be to focus on professional development opportunities with a special emphasis on grooming future college leaders.”
The Southern Association of Colleges with Associate Degrees provides a unified, professional voice to address regional and national issues that impact policies, procedures, and practices related to associate degree granting institutions. The association includes accredited member institutions served by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The SACAD membership includes two hundred colleges from eleven states and provides opportunities for its members to engage in professional development activities through scholarly publications and events. For additional information about SACAD, visit their website at www.sacad.org.
