WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Foundation and Alumni Relations Office is pleased to announce the promotion of Angela Furr of Brookhaven as interim executive director and the hiring of Anna Grider of Brookhaven as assistant director.
Furr has been employed at the college since 2005, serving four years as college recruiter and nine years as associate director of alumni affairs. She has also served as an adjunct instructor in the humanities division for more than ten years. In her previous role in alumni affairs, Furr produced alumni and foundation publications, coordinated special events such as Homecoming, and served as the liaison between alumni and the college. She was the recipient of the Howell C. Garner High Performance Award in 2009. In her new role, she will oversee all foundation and alumni relations of the college with a primary focus on fundraising.
Furr is a 2002 graduate of Co-Lin, and holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in mass communication from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a member of the Brookhaven/Lincoln County Rotary Club, United Way of Lincoln County Board of Directors, the Co-Lin and University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Associations, the Mississippi Community College Inter-Alumni Association, and Heucks Retreat Baptist Church, where she serves in the children’s ministry. She is married to Cliff Furr and has two children, Amelia and Graham.
Grider comes to Co-Lin from the University of South Carolina where she served on staff with Reformed University Fellowship. She was responsible for fundraising and marketing for the organization, as well as advising a group of young women at the university. She received a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management and marketing from Appalachian State University in North Carolina in 2015 where she was a graduate of the University Honors College and the Walker College of Business Honors Program. She was recognized as most outstanding student in Hospitality and Tourism Management and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Grider was recently married to Tim Grider, who serves as youth minister at Faith Presbyterian Church in Brookhaven.
