WESSON, Miss. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College cheer squad racked up the awards last week as the team traveled to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for the UCA Cheer Camp.

The squad received plaques for top three performances in the Time-Outs and Fight Song categories. The team then earned all superior evaluations, the highest available, in appearance, formations, enthusiasm, loudness, stunts, motions, and overall ability to involve the crowd.

Mr. and Mrs. Wolf, Co-Lin’s award winning mascot duo, also garnered a lot of attention after receiving the prestigious Most Collegiate Award a year ago. This year the pair earned a superior plaque for their outstanding performances.
Co-Lin’s cheer coach Micah Allen, who is entering her fourth year at the helm, had nothing but praise for her young squad.

“We are basically starting over with 13 newcomers this season,” Allen said. “I couldn’t have been more pleased with their endurance and performance…this camp is physically exhausting and they stood out under the pressure.”

Allen, a former Co-Lin cheerleader herself, went on to say, “Iron sharpens iron; and seeing cheerleaders at the next level just fueled the fire for our cheerleaders to do their best and then some. We are looking forward to a great year.”

Fans can find the cheerleaders at all Co-Lin football games, both home and away, as well at all home basketball games this upcoming season. The group is also hosting the annual Meet the Wolves pep rally on Wednesday, August 29 at 7 p.m.
