Cletes Vanderford, 85 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his home in Mendenhall, MS. He was born Sunday, February 28, 1937 in Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Visitation will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 at Galilee Baptist Church at 1:00 P.M. until service time.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Galilee Baptist Church. Special music will be performed by Susan Easterling and Michelle Cushman and pianist, Debbie Clark. Burial will follow at Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Troy Dukes and Bro. Roger Barnes will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031.

Mr. Vanderford logged his whole adult life. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church for over fifty-two years. He served as a deacon of Galilee Baptist Church for over forty years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Charlene  Vanderford;  parents, Aaron  Vanderford and  Sula Richardson  Vanderford;  one grandchild, Adam (Cooney) Vanderford;  four brothers, Milton  Vanderford, Rufus  (Top) Vanderford,  Ray Vanderford and Bob  Vanderford; two sisters, Faye  Hendrix and May  Carter.

Survivors include his one son, Douglas Vanderford and wife Sandy of Mendenhall; one grandson Justin Vanderford and wife, Katrina of Huntsville, AL; two great-grandchildren, Heidi and Bennett Vanderford of Huntsville, AL; one brother, L.Q.  Vanderford (Kathleen) of Pearl; two sisters, Linda Byrd of Pearl, and Brenda Sonnenberg (Jimmy) of Polkville and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers will be David Pugh, Justin Vanderford, Wesley Stewart, James Cook, Wesley Sebren, and Mark Clark.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Cook, Jimmy Hodum, Russell Franklin, Gerald Kelly, and John Hodum.
