Mayor Dale Berry announced at the December 17, 2019 City of Magee Board of Aldermen meeting that a clean up for the city cemetery is scheduled for April 10, 2020.

Complaints have been received concerning the condition of the cemetery.  Although the Cemetery Committee has made numerous suggestions for improvements at the cemetery, the majority of the request have been unfulfilled.

As with anything, a lack of funds and labor seems to always be the problem.  After speaking with the Mayor and an alderman, a clean up day was decided (April 10, 2020).

Sue note:  Ya’ll our cemetery is looking rough.  The city employees who work the area are doing the best they can with limited man power.  If you have someone buried in our cemetery, step up and help!  If you are unable to help, send money to  hire someone!  Plan to bring weed-eaters, saws, shovels, and a positive attitude.

More details will be released closer to the date.  And you know what, this would be a great senior project!  If your student needs community service hours, here’s your deal!
