The City of Magee Recreational Department is applying for a $150,000 grant.  One of the grant requirements  is letters of praise and support for our Jimmy Clyde Sportsplex.

Writing letters may seem like a small task…but let me tell you…letting others know how you feel about our Sportsplex is huge!  Letters are needed from local restaurants, motels, gas stations, and the public (me and you!).

When David Dunn, director, spoke about the grant at the Tuesday night, August 7th board meeting, I was thinking, “really, what good is a letter going to do?”  But, as I listened to David, I realized we are the key to this grant.

If the committee does not see how much we believe in our “product” (the Sportplex), why would the committee believe we are worthy of a grant?

You hate to beg…but I’m begging!  We need these letters and we need them now.  Letters need to be turned into City Hall by Monday, August 13th.
