The City of Magee Cemetery Committee, composed of Jason Ratcliffe, Sue Honea, Tawesia Meador, Joy Harris and Rickey Anderson, continue to push forward making a difference in the condition of our cemetery.

Earlier in the summer, the committee led by Tawesia Meador spearheaded the painting of the red brick wall.  The Magee Cemetery sign was replaced.  Areas of the cemetery were assigned letters and numbers with signs providing direction for location of the graves.

“Each of our members are so involved,” stated Sue Honea. “Our members are involved and work!”  The committee has plans for the future to post a sign map with directions, landscape the area on each side of the gate, trimming of limbs and trees, and additional cameras.

“We always welcome new members on the committee,” Sue continued.  “If you would like to join our group, call any member or City Hall.”  “Our meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 5:00 PM.”

Donations for continued improvement are welcomed.  Checks should be made to the City of Magee/Cemetery Fund.

The committee is open to suggestions!

Plans are to have a page on the City website giving information about each grave.
