The Magee Board of Alderman passed the mobile food truck ordinance with adjustments to the original ordinance at the Monday night, November 8, 2021 Work Shop. The City of Magee Privilege License for food preparation vending will cost $2,000 annually.
Mobile food preparation vehicle means any moveable car, van, truck, or trailer from which food is prepared, processed or stored and used to sell and dispense food to the consumer at retail within the city limits any fruit, melons, vegetables, fowl, animals, or parts thereof, or produce of any kind. The unit must be on wheels at all times.
Exception: Permit is not required for the sale of fruit, melons, vegetables, or produce of any kind by a person who has raised or produced the same, or for whom the same has been raised or produced by others employed by him for that purpose.
Mobile food preparation vehicles shall only conduct business on private property in designated areas approved by the department of planning.
