Mayor Jimmy Clyde made the following announcement at the June 7, 2016 Board of Alderman Meeting.

The city is contributing $15,000.00 toward the knox box, fire hose cabinets and emergency egress windows.  The total cost of these items per figures from the school district is $28, 355.00.  We are basically waiving for one year the District’s payment to the City for the maintenance and use of the Sportsplex and they can use that money for these items.  We are doing this on behalf of the safety of the students, teachers, and faculty of Magee Elementary School and also on behalf of the emergency personnel who will be responding to emergency situations at this school.
