During the regular schedule Magee Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, September 5, 2017, the City of Magee adopted Keep Magee Beautiful. Evelyn Copeland came before the board and explained how Magee would benefit in adopting the beautification solution. Mayor Dale Berry advised that the MAIS State Softball tournament would be held in Magee over 2 weekends. David Dunn, Parks and Recreation Director advised the tournament would take place the last two weekends of the month, September 23rd– 25th and September 30th-October 2nd. The tournaments will be a great revenue builder for the city during the two weekends. The Mayor advised the street light project was almost 95% complete.

In other matters the board was advised the Veterans Day parade would take place this year on November 10, 2017. A parade around the school, ceremony, and lunch will be provided for veterans.

Mayor Berry advised it was not mandatory, but the city would install cameras to the back of the garbage trucks. Cameras would aide in driver being able to see passengers on back of truck and help secure their safety.
