Christopher Lee “Chris” West, 51, passed away September 26, 2017, with family and friends by his side in Cumming, Georgia.

Chris is survived by his parents, Lee and Nancy West of Canton, Mississippi,

and his son, Jack West of Cumming, Georgia. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Charlie and Betsy Gee of Atlanta, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee M. and Gradie Lee West, and Clinton L. and Vearle McNair Gee.

Chris was born in Magee, Mississippi on September 16, 1966. He graduated high school in 1985 from Jackson Academy, in Jackson, Mississippi, and continued his education at Mississippi State University graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 1990. He also was awarded a Master of Business Administration in Economics from Mississippi College in 1992.

He enjoyed a successful career in the global telecommunications field emphasizing his skills in business development and account management.

Chris was an avid athlete participating in football, baseball and golf. In his youth, he was a ranked barrel racer attending horse shows throughout the South. After he became a father, Chris was a devoted follower of Jack’s travel baseball and golf activities.

He also leaves behind a vast network of friends who will miss his wit, taste in music, zeal for cooking, but most important, his loyalty to them.

Funeral services for Chris will be conducted on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 12PM at Natchez Trace Funeral Home 759 Highway 51, Madison, Mississippi. Visitation will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home prior to the funeral service from 10AM to 12PM. Burial will be held following funeral services at Natchez Trace Memorial Park.
