Chase Stewart Named Assistant Coach for Wolves Baseball
WESSON – The Co-Lin Baseball team announces the hiring of Chase Stewart as assistant coach. Stewart comes to Co-Lin after spending the last year as an assistant coach at Petal High School where he worked primarily with pitchers, outfielders, and strength and conditioning among other duties.
Stewart spent two years at Clinton High School before going to Petal as an assistant and an interim head coach for the Arrows. As the assistant, Stewart was the pitching coach and worked exclusively in developing a throwing program along with rehab protocols for the players. Before going to Clinton, Stewart spent two years at Wayne County High School as an assistant baseball coach as well as the cross country head coach.
Stewart is a native of Laurel, Mississippi and graduated from West Jones in 2010 where he was a member of the baseball team from 2007-2010. Stewart then played two years at Jones County Junior College and was a member of the 2011 National Runner-up team for the Bobcats. After Jones, Stewart finished his academic career at the University of Southern Mississippi graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2015.
“We’re extremely excited to have Coach Stewart join our staff as the pitching coach,” stated head coach Adam Chamblee. “I believe that connections that he has made while being at the high school level will greatly benefit us in recruiting.”
“I know that he will do a great job leading our pitching staff on a daily basis,” added Chamblee. “Pitching development is something that you can tell he is very passionate about, and I know that he will push our guys to be better everyday.”
