With hearts overflowing with love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Charles Wesley “Wes” Breeden, a man of extraordinary goodness, who peacefully entered the arms of our Lord on Monday, March 10th, 2025. Wes was a beacon of light, born to Clyde Breeden and Birdie Garrett.
His roots ran deep in South Jackson, where he cultivated the values of hard work and kindness that would define his life. He carried those values with him as he graduated from Mendenhall High School and Co-Lin’s Diesel Mechanic School, and they blossomed into a life of unwavering integrity and honor.
On November 1st, 1997, Wes married his soulmate, Kim (White) Breeden, and their love story became a testament to the power of devotion.
They built a beautiful life together in Puckett, their haven, where their love flourished and their hearts found true home. On August 27th, 2002, their joy was multiplied with the arrival of their beloved son, Wesley Tyler Breeden, a young man who became the very embodiment of Wes’s pride and joy.
For over three decades, Wes poured his heart and soul into his work as a diesel mechanic at Ryder in Richland. He was a master of his craft, not just in skill, but in the way he shared his knowledge. He was a true mentor, first guided by the wisdom of his colleagues, and later, a gentle guide to those who followed. His love for his work was only surpassed by his love for the people he worked with. Wes was a man of quiet strength, a gentle listener with a heart that overflowed with love for others. His integrity was his hallmark, his honor his guiding star. He was a giver, always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the task. His willingness to serve, even in unfamiliar territory, spoke volumes of his generous spirit. His soul found solace in the tranquility of fishing, a pastime he shared with Kim, Tyler, and a circle of cherished friends and family. The countless hours spent casting lines were filled with laughter, love, and the simple joy of being together. We will forever smile when we remember these precious moments. Wes leaves behind a legacy of love and goodness.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Kim (White) Breeden, and his beloved son, Tyler Breeden, both of Puckett, Mississippi. He is also survived by his beloved father, Clyde Breeden of Mendenhall, his brother, Scott (Melita) Breeden of Rockport; his stepfather, Don Garrett of Flowood; and a loving host of relatives. He was welcomed into eternal peace by his mother, Birdie (Barron) Garrett, and his stepmother, Betty (Welch) Breeden and a multitude of loved ones.
Charles Wesley Breeden, your memory will forever be a beacon of light in our lives. The precious moments we shared, filled with laughter and tears, will be treasured forever. Thank you, Wes, for the immeasurable gift of your love, your unwavering integrity, and your honorable heart. Your goodness will live on in all who were blessed to know you.
