Charles N Overby (Bud), 79, of Puckett, MS passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at home in Puckett, MS. He was born Tuesday, August 10, 1937 in Brandon, MS.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Visitation will be at 10:00AM at Puckett Baptist Church until service time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Puckett Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Puckett Cemetery. Bro. Grant McElven and Bro. Alvin Doyle will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601)847-4401.
Bud worked for many years as a carpenter, he was also a farmer on the land that belonged to his family since 1880. He was a life long member of Puckett Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a Mason. He was married to his best friend Liz for 58 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, A.A. and Lee Overby, Sisters Gladys Parks, Marilyn Clark, Lucille Wilson,Thelma Murray, and Wynnie Bottoms.
Survivors include his Wife, Liz Overby, Brandon, Son, Perry Overby (Terri), Brandon; Grandchildren, Hayden Overby, Heath Overby and Hank Overby; A host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mack Calhoun, Lance Dotson, Bracy James, Ronnie Means, Robert Means, and Robert Love.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Rufus Vanderford.
