Magee General Hospital Emergency Department will be offering COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Testing between the hours of

11 am – 6 pm Monday through Sunday. You do not have to bring an order from your provider. However, you can still see your provider prior to this screening.

You must meet the CDC’s (Center for Disease Control & Prevention) criteria to be tested which includes one of the following:

1.     Exposure to a COVID-19 positive patient

2.     Symptoms of fever, cough, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, and/or tiredness

3.     Any healthcare worker

Please drive to the front of the hospital under the awning, stay in your vehicle, call 601-849-7399, and an ER nurse will come to you to obtain your specimen.  You will be instructed to isolate yourself from others until you are notified with test results.

WHEN TO SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION

If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY!

Emergency warning signs include:

·        Trouble Breathing

·        Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

·        New confusion or inability to arouse

·        Bluish lips or face

This list is NOT all inclusive. Please consult with you medical provider or MGH Emergency Department (601-849-7399) for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning. We are happy to assist you in your time of need.
