CEMPER SCOTT- HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 77

I, Cemper Scott, am pleased to announce my candidacy in the 2018 special election for the position of Mississippi House of Representatives District 77. Our district deserves a state representative who will take a strong stand on our issues. That is what I will do for our district’s infrastructure, education, and individual freedoms. In my decision to run for representative, I have chosen to continue my humble and passionate service to my community.

After moving to Simpson County twenty-six years ago, with my husband, Stacy Scott, I served as town alderman for D’lo and joined the Republican Women of Simpson County, serving as both treasurer and club president. This start with the Republican Women of Simpson County led me to serve fourteen years on a state level with the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women where I held positions as treasurer, third vice-president, second vice-president, president, and immediate past president. Additionally, I continued to serve in the community as Chairman for the Municipal Executive Committee, as a member of the Republican County Executive Committee, as a member of the Mendenhall Business Women, as a member on the Board of the Mendenhall Chamber of Commerce, and as a member on the school board for Simpson County Academy. Recently, I was selected to begin work with the Aspire program and I am now representing Simpson County to promote economic development. My family and I are members at Calvary Baptist Church of Braxton where I sing with the praise and worship team.

Farmers Market Saturday 8-12 next to Community House!

I am overwhelmed by the encouragement I have received from my community, and with deep consideration, prayer, and years of service to my home, I hope for the opportunity to be a voice for those in my district. I would like to thank everyone and to personally ask for your vote in the upcoming special election for House Representative District 77.

I am a graduate of Pillow Academy and hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Delta State University. Together, my husband, Stacy, and I have owned and operated Scott Tractor and Equipment Company for twenty-one years. We now reside in Mendenhall with our two children Cayla and Grycen Scott.

The special election for the Mississippi House of Representative District 77 seat, vacated by Andy Gipson, will be held July 10, 2018.
