Senior citizens in Magee and the county now have a “home” of their own! A generous donation by PrioriyOne started the wheels moving to revamp the old YMCA building into a gathering place for seniors.
A dream of former Alderman Whitney Baker and Alderman Matthew Hickman, the Senior Center is ready.
A Ribbon Cutting celebrating the event was held at the Senior Center sponsored by the Magee Chamber Commerce. Nancy Brown, Chamber President, welcomed everyone and gave some history of the Senior Center. PriorityOne Bank C.E.O. Robbie Barnes explained a place for seniors to gather had always been a dream. “Our seniors need a place to meet,” stated Barnes.
Door prizes were provided by area businesses. Each senior citizen in attendance received a gift.
