Cedric Charles Griffith of Mendenhall, Mississippi

At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member. At Holy Trinity, he served on the Usher Board, under the direction of his Godparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, and was a Jr. Deacon under the direction of the late, greats, Rev. Mathew Pettis Jr and Sr. Cedric was united in holy matrimony to Lara Harris-Griffith September 16, 2001, whom he cherished dearly. Together they had an unbreakable bond and a true love for the New England Patriots. Cedric was a member of the Holy City Lodge #150 Masons under the direction of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Illinois. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. Cedric had a zest for life and never met a stranger. He always had a smile that will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He quietly departed this life Sunday, May 17, 2020, in Magee, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Griffith, and son, Byron Edingburg.

His loving life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family: His loving Wife: Lara Harris-Griffith of Magee, MS; Mother: Mary Griffith (Charles) of Magee, MS; Six Daughters: Lindsay (Brandon) Woodfin of Chicago, IL, Torri Griffith of Chicago, IL, Allana (Bernard) Meeks of San Diego, CA, Kia Benson of IN, Aisha Harris of Chicago, IL, and Sade’ (Kenneth) Barnes of Chicago, IL: Three Grandchildren; Three Sisters: Malissa (Keith) Price of Mt. Olive, MS, Tanya (Derrick) Rowry of Round Lake, IL and Krista Rowry-Shaw of Magee; Two special lifelong friends: Dwayne Fitzpatrick and Rodney Edingburg; and a host of devoted uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He had an abundance of Facebook friends.
