Carolyn White, 85, of McCall Creek, MS, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 29,
2024. She was born in Franklin County, MS, on January 12, 1939, to the late Leon Burris and
Gladys Arnold Burris. She worked in the cafeteria at Brookhaven Academy for many years and
as a seamstress at Stahl-Urban and other garment factories. She was a long-time
member of McCall Creek Baptist Church where she served in many roles, including song leader.
For the last few years, Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Magee, MS. Carolyn
enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing dominoes, putting puzzles together, and taking walks to the
fields around her home.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Gladys Burris; her husband of 51 years, Dennis G.
White; her sister, Bobbie Nell Holland; and her brother, Robert Burris. Survivors include her daughter Ophelia Marie Moore (Clarence) of Fayetteville, OH; son Albert White (Charlie) of Magee, MS; grandchildren, Neely Kate White, John Thomas White, Sarah Grace White, and Anna Beth White of Magee, MS; and many more family and friends she deeply loved.

Carolyn cherished the times she spent with her family and friends and counted them as blessings
from God. Even in declining health, she always looked forward to visits from them. Many people had a hand in caring for Carolyn during the last few years of her life, and her family would like to thank the family, friends, doctors, nurses, caregivers, drivers, and many others who took the time to care for and serve her.
