Capital Orthopedic is coming to Magee two Fridays each month beginning Friday, October 13th. (2nd and 4th Friday of each month)
Dr. Matthew Futvoye, orthopedic surgeon, will be seeing patients in the St Dominic Family Practice Clinic located inside Tuscany Towers near the hospital.
Dr. Futvoye is a native of Jackson where he attended Jackson Academy. He then studied exercise science at Ole Miss before going on to complete a degree in Physical Therapy at UMMC in 1997. After completing PT school, he worked as a physical therapist for four years in Alabama. During this time, he than decided that he wanted to further his medical career and began making plans to go back to medical school.
In 2006, Dr. Futvoye graduated from UMMC Medical School and continued there to complete his orthopedic surgery residency. He then competed a fellowship in Joint Replacement and Adult Reconstruction at Vanderbilt University and Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville, TN. Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined the team at Capital Orthopedic in 2012.
