Jackson, Miss – Walter Pernillo, 42, of San Bernardino, California, was sentenced on Friday, April 22, 2016, by U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III, to serve a term of 151 months in federal prison followed by 5 years of supervised release for his role in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, U.S. Gregory K. Davis announced today.
This case was the result of an extensive investigation, dubbed AOperation Yeti Ice@, which began as an operation targeting illegal narcotics distribution central, Mississippi that involved the distribution of over 100 Kilograms of Methamphetamine. The drug distribution network encompassed the states of California and Mississippi.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Assisting agencies included the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Leake County Sherriff’s Office, Madison County Sherriff’s Office, United States Postal Service, Internal Revenue Service, Carthage Police Department, , Forest Police Department, Newton County Sherriff’s Office, Lauderdale County Sherriff’s Office, Decatur Police Department, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Richland Police Department, Pearl Police Department, Ridgeland Police Department, Jackson Police Department and the United States Marshal Service.
