Scott Womack posted the following information about activities with the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department, Saturday, November 19th.
Busy day at the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office yesterday, we started out with a 2 vehicle overturned and entrapment motor vehicle accident on Highway 49 at Howard Industries just south of the Mendenhall City Limits resulting in minor injuries due to seat belts worn by all occupants. We then had lunch for the Simpson County Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy cadets who graduate Tuesday, then on to a fire where a tree cutter caught on fire in the woods near 261 Emmitt Brown Road. Mendenhall Fire Department and Mississippi Forestry Commission responded with water tanker, multiple fire engines and 2 bulldozers. Later, several safety checkpoints apprehended a felon wanted from Louisiana, multiple DUI’S and numerous citations.
Thanks to Scott for keeping the people of Simpson County updated.
