Bryan “Bubba” Cory-Lee D’Avy, age 17, of Florence, MS passed from this life on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. He was born on September 8, 2004, to Gloria Hall and Joey D’Avy in Flowood, MS.
When he was five years old his mother married Michael Scott Taylor, who very lovingly and proudly became his daddy.
To know Bubba was to love him. If you knew him, you knew that he was the most caring, friendly and respectful person there was. His smile and laugh were infectious. He loved his family more than anything and that family extended to his closest friends especially “6ix”, his best friend, but also a brother he never had. He admired and looked up to “6ix” greatly.
He enjoyed playing basketball, throwing the football with his little brother, Bentley, playing Madden and 2K on his x-box, but mainly spending time with his family and friends.
Bubba was preceded in death by his uncle, Jermaine Smith and cousin, Fredrick Smith and Papaw Jr. Taylor.
Those left to treasure his memory are his parents, Michael and Gloria Taylor and Joey D’Avy (Mindy); his siblings: Tori Cox, Bentley Taylor and Taisley Taylor, Brianna Peacock and Joey Peacock, Hannah Coleman, Trayton Maples, Trey Hylender, Hayden D’Avy, Desree Hylender, Zoey D’Avy, and Landen D’Avy all; one nephew, Marlo Sandifer; grandparents, Toxio Hall (Kim), Wylene Smith (Chad), Howard Taylor (Linda), Letena King (Jimmy), Debbie Westrope (Rob), Phillip D’Avy (Chandra); great-grandmother, Catherine Westrope.
Uncles: William Smith, Isidore Smith, De’Shawn Newton, Ray Smith, James Smith, and Silas Smith all; Kris Taylor, and Frank Adams (Stacie).
Aunts: Rie Rie Taylor (Kevin), Kelly Rouillier, Jessica Rouillier, Missy Munn, Mary Moore (Phillip), Milan Sherry (Zaire), Lil Wylene Smith, Dawn Harrington (Robbie), Deborah Little (Pat); Great Aunts: Romaine Smith (Larry), Renee McCardle (Chris), Great Uncles: Van Hall (Donna), Jim Westrope (Melinda), Elbert Westrope (Kim), Bryan Westrope (Tina), Tammy Westrope (Lauren) and a multitude of cousins and friends that he loved tremendously.
Pallbearers will be Tori Cox, Jonathan Harris (6ix), Cody Munn, Clayton Munn, James Traylor, Jacob Traylor, Ray Smith, Larry Camper, Quentin McNair and Dakota Holifield (DK).
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pinola, MS from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with interment to follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinola, MS.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
