Ag Commissioner Andy Gipson Announces Make Mississippi Healthy Again Farm Tour

June 13, 2025

The Magee Chamber of Commerce has been kicking tail and taking names this year. Having such an awesome year has granted me a lot of praise as the Chamber President. I want to set the record straight by saying this was a group effort. I have been wanting to give proper recognition to our board for quite some time now. Instead of recognizing the board as a whole, I want to do so personally. I will be writing an article a week to personally praise each and every board member individually. Each article will focus on just one board member. This will be a part of a 12 week series, so be sure to tune in every week.
To start the series off, how about we focus on none other than our Chamber Treasurer, Brien Hubbard. The title of Chamber Treasurer has kind of always been an honorary title. I contacted Brien at the beginning of the year and asked him if he could beef up the duties of this position. Brien not only stepped up the role as Treasurer, but he has owned it! Brien took over the financials and has given us a better way to account for our funds. Brien gives us a complete and comprehensive breakdown at the start of every meeting. I am thankful for this because I could not have done as good a job as he has.

There is so much more that Brien has contributed to the Chamber and the City of Magee than his role as Treasurer. I have personally sat down with Brien to discuss ideas for building upon Magee. Brien is full of vigor and passion for this town. Brien has been a wonderful counsel and someone I lean on for advice as President. I can honestly say that Mr. Hubbard needs to be in more leadership roles in Magee. Brien is one of the most energetic and hardworking members the Chamber has ever had.
Crazy Day always starts super early for us board members every year. Brien showed up with the rest of the board at 4:30 am ready to work that morning. I felt a little bad because I placed him as the main guy at the end of the 5 way to funnel the vendors to their spot. Brien did not complain the entire time. In fact, this was one of the most efficient Crazy Day mornings in Magee history because of him. Brien even stayed majority of the day to not just have fun, but make sure everything was running smoothly. Needless to say, Crazy Day ran without a single hitch.
Brien has only missed one board meeting and one event. His absence was not because of lack of want to, but because of work obligations. I can guarantee one thing, if there is work to be done in Magee, Brien Hubbard will show up every time with bells on. I am thankful for people like Brien for their passion, hard work, and love for such a wonderful place as Magee.
Thank you Brien for all you have done for the Chamber and the City of Magee.

Brien Hubbard
