Simpson County’s Sheriff office reported Monday night, July 26, 2021 just before 9pm, Simpson County E911 dispatch received a call of a burglary in progress with shots fired at 135 Dan George Road. The E911 caller stated that a naked man who was later identified as Clint Jones Jr. was attempting to break-in to her mother’s home which was next door.
Her husband then went next door and confronted Jones. The two men began fighting which resulted in Jones being shot in the torso and arm. Simpson County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and secured the scene. Mr. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident is still under investigation and once completed, the findings will be presented to the 13th District Attorney’s Office for review.
