Austin Bowen, graduating senior of Mendenhall High School, was recently presented the school’s highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.
Austin Bowen, the son of Brian and Casey Bowen, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Bowen has served as Mendenhall High School FFA’s Student Advisor for 4 years and has participated in numerous activities over those years. Suzie Sorey Bourn is Bowen’s FFA sponsor instructor at Mendenhall High School
This year the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 71st anniversary. Over these 71 years more than 168,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the award, which has become a symbol for excellence and the school’s highest agricultural honor.
