Both Simpson Teams Advance to the MAIS 5A State Semifinals

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Simpson won to claim their spot in the semifinals. The Lady Cougars played Bowling Green, at Pillow Academy. They defeated Bowling Green 67-50. They will play a tough Leake team on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. The winner of this game will play the winner of Brookhaven Academy and Pillow for the MAIS 5A State Championship title. The championship game will be on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:15 p.m.

Simpson boys also competed on Wednesday. They played ACCS and won 70-59. This win secured their spot in the Semifinals. They will play Madison St. Joe on Friday, at 6:00 p.m. The winner of this game will play the winner of Oak Forest and Copiah Academy, on Saturday. The game Saturday, February 18, 2023, will determine the MAIS 5A State Champion. The championship game will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, at Pillow.

The MAIS 5A State Tournament is being held at Pillow Academy, in Greenwood, Mississippi.
