By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in John 1:12-13: “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God–children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” The apostle tells the early Christians of their divine right to be called “Children of God.” From the moment they repented and accepted Christ, then followed Him in baptism, they became heirs and joint heirs of God and were entitled to life everlasting with Him. Oh, what a gift! And we today have the same assurance. What a comfort to those who do call on the Name of Jesus for hope beyond this mortal coil. We are a blessed group, the chosen. Let us never take for granted the supreme price Jesus paid.
Today, we have yet another chance to share the love, joy, and kindness with all with whom we come in contact. Jesus will be well-pleased, and we’ll feel better about ourselves. Let’s do it!
Happy Tuesday!
