Bonnie Ruth Webb Houston, 83, of Pineville, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born in Smith County, Mississippi.

A private family Funeral Service will be held at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. The burial will follow in Cedar Grove Methodist Church Cemetery at 3983 Mississippi Highway 501, Raleigh, Mississippi. Bro. Danny Dickerson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Bonnie Ruth Houston best known as “Ms. Bonnie” attended Pineville High School and graduated in 1955. She completed her Bachelor’s degree from William Carey College while working full-time as a Secretary for Smith County Vocational Technical Complex. Ms. Bonnie served in this position for many years until her retirement in the early 1990s. Ms. Bonnie was well liked and loved by many students that attended classes at the “Vo-Tech”. She was best described as a “Social Butterfly”.

Upon retirement, Ms. Bonnie and her late husband, Rupert, built their retirement home in the Pineville area where she was born and raised. She and her late husband enjoyed vacationing in their motor home in the Smokey’s and attending first Monday in north Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert E. Houston; parents, J.P. and Edna Russell Webb; and two brothers, Troy W. Webb and Truitt G. Webb.

Survivors include her two loving children, Angela D. Houston of Raleigh and Shelton L. Houston and wife, Candy, of Raleigh; three grand puppies; and a host of other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of food and flowers the family asks to please donate to one of the following in honor of Bonnie Ruth Webb Houston. 1) Leukemia – Cancer Society, 2) ASPCA, 3) Wounded Warriors, or 4) donate a unit of blood.
