Bonnie Faye Ainsworth Vowell, 90 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at her home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, May 14, 1932, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.
A private immediate family graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Dr. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Ms. Bonnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylorsville, where she served teaching Sunday school. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the co-owner of the Liberty Café in Taylorsville in the fifties and the sixties. She enjoyed traveling and spending time in Florida with her family. She served for the Town of Taylorsville as an Alderwomen for eight years. While serving on the board she was involved in planting and watering trees and flowers on every corner of the town. In 2004 she worked at Yellowstone National Park. Since 2005, she has managed The Body Shop in Taylorsville, where she enjoyed meeting and spending time with her customers and friends. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen W. Vowell; father, Cranford Ainsworth; mother, Bessie Allen Ainsworth; brothers, Seren Ainsworth and Kimble Ainsworth; sisters, Tommie Ainsworth Blakeney and Sue Ainsworth Russell; and son-in-law, Thomas E. Brown.
Survivors include her one son, Al Vowell (Sylvia) of Quitman, MS; two daughters, Barbara Vowell Brown of Bay Springs, MS and Mitzi Vowell Ford (Benjie) of Taylorsville, MS; nine grandchildren, Ben Ford (Brittany) of Taylorsville, MS, Baker Ford (Holly Moran) of Taylorsville, MS, Britt Ford (Baleigh) of Vicksburg, MS, Betsy Brown of Bay Springs, MS, Tom Brown of Ocean Springs, MS, Drew Brown (Heather) of Laurel, MS, Leslie Vowell Price (Will) of Fayetteville, TN, Anna Kathryn Vowell Poore (Chan) of Conway, AR and Elizabeth Vowell Blades (Chris) of Baton Rouge, LA; seventeen great-grandchildren, Brooks and Blayne Ford of Taylorsville, MS, Kali Rose Ford of Taylorsville, MS, Kyndal Blakeney of Taylorsville, MS, Beckham and Brynleigh Ford of Vicksburg, MS, Charla Lee (Alan) of Molino, FL, Fisher Brown of Ocean Springs, MS, Marley and Isabella Brown of Laurel, MS, Maryanna, Preston, and Kathryn Price, Colin and Vivi Poore of Conway, AR, Nobie, and Oscar Blades of Baton Rouge, LA, ; two great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon Lee and Kenzie Lee of Molino, FL; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ben Ford, Baker Ford, Britt Ford, Tom Brown and Drew Brown.
Honorary pallbearer will be Benjie Ford.
